1.  Centrifugal Pump


The liquid fills the pump casing, the impeller rotates at a high speed, and the liquid generates a high speed under the action of centrifugal force. The high-speed liquid passes through the gradually enlarged pump casing passage, and the dynamic pressure head is converted into a static pressure head.

Compared with the reciprocating pump of the same specification, the centrifugal pump has a simple and compact structure, small volume, light weight, few parts, convenient manufacture, low cost, and small footprint, so its equipment and repair costs are relatively low.


Centrifugal pumps have the following major drawbacks:

Under normal circumstances, the centrifugal pump must be pumped or pumped out with a vacuum pump before starting. Although the pump does not need to be pumped before the start of the self-priming centrifugal pump, there are still limitations in its use.

Liquid viscosity has a large impact on pump performance. As the viscosity of the liquid increases, the pump's flow, head, suction and efficiency are significantly reduced.

The centrifugal pump is applied under the condition of small flow and high lift, which is subject to certain restrictions. Because the pump flow path of the small-flow centrifugal pump is narrow, manufacturing is difficult and the efficiency is low.
